Reflection - Drawing and me

I'd say that one of my main weaknesses when it comes to drawing is a need for perfectionism. This need to make perfect work hinders me when it comes to practice, as I shy a way from working on things that I struggle with because it wont lead to the best of out comes. to improve as an artist I need to accept that not everything needs to be perfect, so then I can start to work on my weak points and become a fully rounded illustrator. 
I think with this project I would like to try out oil pastels and paints, as I have little experience with these materials and would like to try to figure out how to best use them, as I have used then before but I'm not entirely sure it was in the right way. 
From my research I have come to realise sketchbooks don't have to be a set of complete drawings that are perfect, they are somewhere to practice and learn from your mistakes. Not all artists that create great work have these super detailed drawings in their sketchbook, it is just a place for them to experiment and figure out what they want to do and how to do it.
