Brad HollandFor this project I'd like to consider the work of Brad Holland due to the fact he is more of traditional artist and uses paint for his work. Hollands use of paint allows for him to build atmosphere and even some of his work has ominous feeling, for example to painting of the horse bellow. With the other artists on here, they do not provoke that same feeling, as their work is more flat, or focused on body language. In this project I would like to experiment with making my illustrations look like Hollands work, as well as the other artists. Dan BejarDan Bejar's work is quite simple when it comes to his illustrations and use of colour, however it is affective and the get the point across. This kind of style is definitely more suited to the editorial work since it could be produced in a short period of time, luckily I have 2 weeks for more exploration. Nathan HackettNathan Hackett's work takes on a simple art style, however his illustrations are busy and full of little details that convey the idea he is trying to present. Having many figures in an illustration can be difficult, but it is always good to have a challenge. One thing that might help is setting a limited colour palette, as Hackett tends to stick with a certain number of colours, which prevents the illustrations getting too out of hand.
